Fierce and feared, 16th-century Highland laird Greylen MacGreggor has yet to meet his match—until Dr. Gwendolyn Reynolds falls through time and into his arms. Get spellbound by this time travel romance.
It is rare that a book transports you to another world so magical and enthralling that you hate to have to put down the book to go to work, but this book does just that. From the very first page, the reader is drawn into Gwen’s world where she is an accomplished surgeon and feels her ache and longing for…something…and then the reader is drawn into Greylen’s mind as he rages against what he is sure is to be his deepest betrayal and his conviction that he will always feel the emptiness he now knows. Once Gwen and Greylen find each other, the story unfolds and takes many turns as Greylen is forced to leave his newly found love to deal with troubles and daily responsibilities of running his clan in Medieval Scotland and Gwen has to come to terms with where and when she now finds herself. The characters and emotion and imagery are so well done in this story that the reader can’t help but laugh out loud at the humor and cry at the love and pain. While this is a romantic story, it’s not your typical romance novel. It’s filled with time travel, prophecies, and a view into what life is like for these two both in the now and in the past 500 years ago. But, what is most appealing is that no matter what time line the story is in, people and their basic needs, comforts and emotions are very much the same – which is what makes for a truly transcendent love story that passes through time no matter when it happens.
