WARD SNYDER
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Ward was born and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland along with sisters, Liz, Louise, and Kathy. His father, Leonard, was an attorney, entrepreneur, avid golfer and tennis player. Leonard passed his passion for tennis on to Ward and his sisters. The siblings spent countless hours on the tennis courts of Holiday Park in Ft. Lauderdale and Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Maryland, eventually competing against the top tier players in Florida, the Middle Atlantic States and even the national stage.
After graduating from Fort Lauderdale High and attending Clemson University on a full tennis scholarship, Ward focused on a career in entrepreneurial endeavors. The bulk of his thirty plus years was spent in the commercial real estate industry and encompassed some interesting side ventures, including the restaurant business, the rental car industry, turtle farming, and an attempt to make it on the pro tennis circuit.
Sharks have been a lifelong fascination for Ward and the evolution from being a trophy hunter to a being a conservationist was part of his maturation as a human being. His respect for the apex predators in the sea, along with the metaphorical ones on land, developed as a result of hard lessons learned along the way. He shares his unorthodox journey, and sometimes life threatening adventures in his first book, Shark Life, A Memoir.
The book’s short story format is perfect for our distracted, multi-tasking society. The reader can easily put the book down one week and start back up a month later without losing interest or continuity. Ward is excited to be sharing the entertaining and factual episodes from his life.
