HELAINE MARIO  -  HelaineMario.com

Helaine Mario is the author of three published novels of suspense.  Firebird is the story of a forgotten Cold War spy.  Her two other novels feature classical music - the award-winning bestseller, The Lost Concerto, and its sequel, Dark Rhapsody, both published by Oceanview Publishing.  Dark Rhapsody just WON the 2018 Best Book Award for Mystery and is a Foreward Indies Best Mystery Finalist.  Helaine is currently writing her fourth novel, Shadow Music.

Dark Rhapsody, one of the Bedside Reading books chosen by Morrison House for the month of May, continues classical pianist Maggie O’Shea’s story, as she is drawn to Vienna in a search for her vanished father, and for the heir to a priceless painting missing since WWII.  Chord by chord, Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody becomes the heart of Maggie’s journey.  Music tells our stories…  When it comes to writing, Helaine says she wants, more than anything, to tell a good story, create characters with depth, and paint pictures with words.  To make people feel.  Helaine lives just a few miles away, in Arlington, with her husband of 50 years.  She has two children and five beautiful grands.  All book proceeds go to programs for women, children and families.

About The Canary's Song:
What was left of Juliette Bennett's life was in shambles. Losing her young son to a tragic accident had nearly driven her to the point of madness and now she was on the verge of losing her husband too. In a last ditch effort to save their marriage, she      decided to book a romantic cabin vacation for just the two of them up in the mountains of North Carolina. She thought she had experienced the worst life could throw at her. Little did she know that the wilderness had in something else in store for her, when she finds herself left alone and fighting for her life.

The Divine Affliction
Robert M. Fleisher
About the author:
Dr. Fleisher holds a BA in psychology and DMD with a specialty of endodontics. Engaged in writing for the past thirty-five years, he has written for professional journals as well as having produced several non-fiction books. After three self-published books, Forty Something, Fifty Something, and Bedside Manner - How to Gain Your Patients' Respect, Love and Loyalty, he was fortunate to have made publishing deals for his most recent non-fiction titles: The Sexless Marriage Fix – Basic Health Publications and From Waiting Room to Courtroom - How Doctors Can Avoid Getting Sued – Jay Pee Brothers Medical Publishers. Both of these books were release in 2016. In 2018 he had two more books published: Dating Again - A Guide to Dating Just When You Thought You Were Done... funny stuff, and his debut novel, The Divine Affliction.
Having left dentistry to write full time, he revisited his passion for fiction. He is now happy to present The Divine Affliction published by Black Rose Writing. Next up, another psychological thriller, The American Strangler, a tale of how the legal system is strangling America.

About :The Divine Affliction is the story of an invisible terrorist attack on America by a treacherous host of enemies.
Department of Justice attorney, Derrick Daniels, investigates and prosecutes international drug cartels from the comfort of his desk. Reluctantly drawn into a field investigation, his life becomes a nightmare shrouded in mystery. Derrick accompanies Savannah Ambrose, another Department of Justice attorney, on a mission abroad to meet with their counterparts in Pakistan. Together they investigate the possibility that rogue Arab states are using prions -- the poorly understood cause of a multitude of deadly diseases including mad-cow disease and the incurable human form, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease -- as a terrorist weapon against the United States. Derrick finds all control over his world is lost and replaced by a fate that may explain the ever-growing, international epidemic of violence and terror. The more he discovers, the less credible his tale becomes. Upon their return to the States, assassins and inexplicable forces threaten Derrick and Savannah. Soon, the powers of ancient law collide with contemporary villainy to define the destiny of all humankind. The Divine Affliction explores the use of stealth, violence, terror, and enslavement as a means to destroy the American people, whose most venerable enemy may be revealed when looking into a mirror. The cause of the rampant of vicious, irrational behavior that sets its stain upon every echelon of society is postulated. Is anything in Derrick’s world real? Is America sleeping, unaware of the ultimate weapon of destruction?
